OUR STORY
The Channon Tavern has always been part of the village’s fabric. Long before it was a meeting place for locals and travellers, the building began life as a butter factory, a reminder of The Channon’s farming roots and strong sense of community.
Over the years it evolved into the local pub many people know today. In 2022, after the floods that impacted much of the Northern Rivers region, the Tavern faced significant damage and uncertainty about its future.
That is where this next chapter began.
When we took over, we saw more than a building. We saw potential, history and a place that still meant something to the community.
Our focus has been simple. Restore it with care. Keep what makes it special. Create a relaxed, welcoming space for locals and visitors alike. We are building it back thoughtfully, improving it little by little while respecting what it has always been.
Today, The Channon Tavern is a place to gather. Good pub meals, live music, pool tables, a picnic area by Terania Creek and space for families to relax.
We are proudly pokie free. Kids can enjoy the fenced play area, and dogs are welcome outside on a leash.
We are grateful for the support from our community and visitors as we continue shaping the Tavern into something we can all be proud of.
